UMass receives $50 million commitment from Robert and Donna Manning

The University of Massachusetts has announced a $50 million gift from alumni Robert J. ('84) and Donna Manning ('85, '91) in support of efforts to increase access and opportunity across the five-campus university system.

The largest-ever commitment to the university includes $15 million to endow the UMass Boston nursing program, which will be renamed the Robert and Donna Manning College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Nearly a third of women give to crowdfunding campaigns, study finds

Nearly one in three women (31.1 percent) give to a crowdfunding campaign in a typical year, compared with 32.4 percent of men, a report from the Women's Philanthropy Institute at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy finds.

Nathan Cummings Foundation names Kavita N. Ramdas president and CEO

The Nathan Cummings Foundation has announced the appointment of Kavita Nandini Ramdas as its new president and CEO, effective October 4. Ramdas, who currently leads the Open Society Foundations' Women's Rights Program, will succeed interim president and CEO Rey Ramsey, who will continue to serve on the board and support the foundation's mission-aligned investing activities.
