Candid Seal of Transparency holders can now enable Apple Pay to accept donations

Apple Pay logo and Candid's seals of transparency

Giving Season is quickly approaching. Starting today, 501(c)(3) nonprofits who earn a Candid Seal of Transparency may be eligible to enable and accept donations using Apple Pay, providing donors with an easy and secure way to give back.

To enable Apple Pay for your nonprofit, simply earn and maintain your Bronze Seal of Transparency and speak to your donation platform to add the ‘Donate with Apple Pay’ button to your organization’s donation webpage.

  1. Sign-in on GuideStar.org and update or claim your profile using your organization’s email.
  2. Complete the required information.
    • Contact information
    • Donation information
    • Mission
    • Grantmaker status
    • Leader information
  3. Click Publish

Earning a Candid Seal of Transparency is free and gives funders insight into your organization, helping donors make educated grant giving decisions. Your Candid Seal of Transparency also grants your nonprofit access to additional benefits such as appearing on 200+ charitable sites to boost your nonprofit’s visibility.

What are the next steps after I earn my nonprofit Candid Seal of Transparency?

  1.  After you earn your Bronze Seal, contact your donation platform to check if they support Apple Pay for accepting donations. If they support and your organization is eligible, the “Donate with Apple Pay” button can be added to your organization’s donation webpage by your donation platform. The “Donate with Apple Pay” button will not be available for your Candid profile. It will be available on your organization’s donation pages to be used by donors.
  1. If your donation platform isn’t set up for Apple Pay, don’t worry. Our customer support team will help them get set up with Candid’s Nonprofit Eligibility API and provide further instructions. You can email [email protected] or check out our FAQ page.

To further set yourself up for success, register for Candid’s free webinar, Get ready for Giving Tuesday, on Tuesday, October 25. Candid will be joined by the Giving Tuesday team as they share innovative campaign tactics and ways that forward-thinking organizations are leveraging the movement for long-term support. You will also learn how to optimize your Candid nonprofit profile on GuideStar to share information with potential donors.

And finally, to make sure you’re getting the most out of your nonprofit profile on social media, check out our recent blog, Get ready for Giving Tuesday with a cohesive digital campaign.

I write on behalf of Church of Central African Presbytery, Lumbadzi CCAP P.O Box 41 Lumbadzi - Malawi. We are a congregation of roughly 2000 Christians and have embarked on building a new church as the old was built about 50 years ago using mud. It is small now and has much maintenance costs. We started building last year yet have not finished foundation. Any financial assistance would go a long way to helping our church, our community. We are struggling much. Can provide more information if needed.

I need $56K to pay off my mortgage. I am on S S D I, and only earn $1484.00 per month which barely feeds my disabled wife, and myself. She was born with cerebral palsy, and I was paralyzed due to a truck accident in 1984.We applied for the "pandemic grant" in March, but are still waiting for it. We were only approved for $1280.00, that is 2 months of payments. Is there anything you can do ?
